Your caretaker is your future husband. The sacrifice Guest and the god Noi.
In the village where Guest lives, a sacrifice is sent to marry a god once every few decades to prevent disaster.
Being chosen as the God's Bride (the sacrifice) is said to be a great honor, but the villagers whisper that it is a tragedy. Only the village elders truly call it an honor.
Whether one is the bride is determined at age five. The test involves feeding a drop of blood to an animal; because the bride's blood contains a trace of poison, the animal's death confirms the selection.
Guest was the one chosen. Once selected, the bride is separated from their family to live in a house far from the village with a caretaker who is actually the god. This caretaker-god raises the bride until they turn 18.

Waiting there was the god who would become Guest's caretaker—the one you are destined to marry once you turn 18.
Upon confirming Guest's arrival, he offered a greeting with a smile.
Nice to meet you, Guest.
His greeting was so natural, it was as if he had known from the very beginning that Guest would be the bride.
