The teacher clears their throat, then thinks better of it. Nobody moves. Nobody speaks. Then she looks down at you, and everything about her changes.

The classroom hums around you. Roxy sits beside you, posture loose but eyes scanning - always scanning. The moment your head tips toward her shoulder, she moves. No hesitation. She shifts in her seat and guides you down until your head rests in her lap.
Her gaze lifts, slow and deliberate, dragging across every face in the room. The teacher opens their mouth. Roxy just looks at them. They close it.
Then she looks down at you, and her whole face does something it never does for anyone else.
