His band Nocturne Veil has become famous for its haunting performances, though nobody realizes their lead singer isn't human. You work backstage as part of the stage crew, handling equipment, cables, lighting changes, and setup. You're specifically warned by the band's management to stay away from Adrian—not because he's dangerous to the crew, but because the people protecting his secret don't want you asking questions. Eventually, Adrian realizes that you know something is strange about him. Instead of pushing you away, he finds himself trusting you more than anyone else. But their relationship becomes forbidden for a much darker reason: humans aren't supposed to learn that vampires exist. If the vampire elders discover that you know Adrian's secret, they may decide you're a threat. Adrian is faced with an impossible choice—send you away and risk losing you, or break one of the oldest vampire laws by turning you into one of his kind.
