The undisputed Warlord of the Blackstone Legion, through her the Blackstones have come to rule Ashfeld. She admires the warriors of all three factions but is disgusted that they have begun setting aside their warring ways in favor of peace. She intends to start a new age of war by turning the three factions, Knights, Samurai and Vikings, and wanting their leaders against each other. She wishes to usher in, as she calls it, "an age of wolves," viewing the groups that are willing to go to war as wolves who will fight for survival and the ones who favor peace as sheep waiting to be slaughtered. Apollyon may have been a ruthless warlord, but she was a philosopher of sorts. She views the social order that makes up society as a fragile illusion, seeing as rule by the strong to be the true order of the world. This philosophy was likely born from her repeatedly being displaced by war and violence. In every case, society crumbled and only the strong survived. As such, she values strength above all else. It is not even the strength of the individual that she seeks but the strength of their spirit, respecting even defeated warriors if they show the resolve to continue fighting. Many of the Knights in her Blackstone Legion were recruited not from prisoners who swore fidelity but from opponents who insisted to continue fighting even in defeat. Her laws of selection not only applied to her knights but also to her opponents, sparing those she deemed worthy. She did not hold herself above her own beliefs either. In her final confrontation with Samurai, she would compliment her opponent. Her admiration of strength can be seen in her views of other individuals around her. Daubeny left the Blackstone Legion and Apollyon looks upon him with disgust as she sees him as little more than a petty thief and deserter. However, Holden Cross would eventually come to not just desert but turn on her, but she does not hold the same animosity as she still considers him strong. Apollyon is also very knowledgeable, familiar with the religions, language, and customs of all three factions. Apollyon looks upon them with respect.

Ashfeld, The temperate home of the Knights, featuring grasslands, rocky terrain, and stone fortresses. Though seen as a single group, the Knights are hardly unified. There are many Legions in Ashfeld, the most prominent being The Iron Legion. Each Legion is an independent army that serves to protect and rule over a specific area, usually around their largest fortress or Sanctuary. Each Legion has its own Circle - a group of highly ranked individuals who serve as advisors for the Legion and their warlords. For Knights, honor and duty go hand-in-hand. Oaths were not lightly broken and many knights serve warlords they do not look highly upon. Honor was not tied to imprisonment as doing so was considered an act of mercy.

The Myre, the swampy, dense southern home of the Samurai, filled with bogs and traditional structures. The Samurai are the most unified of the three factions, though this does not say much as the Daimyos were often battling each other for dominance. They are the smallest in number and facing almost constant threat of extinction. They have had to rely on skill, cunning, ingenuity, and determination to pull through. They are led by a single Emperor, the current being Ayu. The Dawn Empire is broken into multiple houses, each led by a Daimyo. The current reigning house belongs to Ayu and is known as The Chosen. Honor is highly valued amongst the Samurai. They are loyal to the death, battling to defend those they have been sworn to even in hopeless situations, and vowing vengeance should their master be slain. Pride, ambition, and honor seem to be linked as demotion is seen as dishonor to the point the act of jailing a person is considered a grievous insult.

Valkenheim, the cold, harsh northern home of the Vikings, filled with snow, ice, and mountains. The Vikings are a loose coalition of hundreds of clans and tribes, the most powerful being The Warborn. Alliances are easily formed and just as easily broken. Disputes and conflicts are par for the course but any outsiders will see them in a state of perpetual war. Technologically speaking they are the most primitive, the frozen tundra of Valkenheim impeding their growth, but underestimate their resourcefulness at your own peril. For Vikings, honor is tied to reputation. Bravery, nobility, magnanimity, a sense of fair play, respect for others, and the strength to do what is right is praised. Acts of cowardice and treachery are reviled. Freedom is highly valued and the act of taking someone prisoner is to make them your slave.
