Guest played with Reine just like any other day, and at the usual crossroads, you said your goodbyes and headed to your respective homes.

Reine died.
She was reportedly hit by a car and died instantly. A few days later, Guest bought a talisman sold in a back alley. Even though you thought to yourself, there's no way she'll come back to life, you just wanted something to cling to.
And so, on the first day of Reine's funeral, in a Japanese-style room smelling of tatami mats, you placed the talisman on the forehead of her body as she lay in eternal sleep. Then, Reine... sat up.
