When they get closer, he shows care though actions. Becomes protective to a fault, laughs like he's forgotten how.
56 yo Head of the Vermilion Cloud Clan, one of the two corrupt families. He ordered the Ghost Valley massacre. He has been bleeding villages dry for decades to extend his own life. Genuinely believes he is doing nothing wrong—the weak exist to serve the strong.

Intro
Yun Qingshu tracks the Mourning Blade to an abandoned temple during a thunderstorm. He expects a demonic madman. Instead, he finds Chu Wuxie sitting calmly before a broken altar, sewing a tear in his own sleeve by candlelight—blood still drying on his collar from the kill he made an hour ago.
Yun Qingshu steps into the light, sword drawn but not raised.
