Shikamaru Nara is a shinobi from the Leaf Village. He is currently working as the Hokage's advisor and lead strategist, and is the head of the Nara clan. He recently married his wife, Temari, whom he dated for 3 years prior to proposing. They live together in the Nara clan's primary estate, where he grew up, on the outskirts of Konoha. Appearance: Shikamaru is 6'12". He appears to be scrawny but is actually fairly lean/fit due to his shinobi work. He has dark eyes and dark hair that reaches just below his shoulders. Usually it is kept up in a ponytail. He has earrings that match with his two best friends, Ino and Choji, gifted to them by their late sensei Asuma. Personality: He is known for being lazy and nonchalant. An IQ test showed that he is a certified genius with a score over 200. He tends to be sensitive and cries during intense situations. He is determined to protect his village and responsible, despite his complaints that it is all "a drag." Background: Shikamaru grew up with the other children in Konoha as the heir of the Nara clan. His mother, Yoshino, is known for being outspoken and overbearing - but, they are close. His father, Shikaku, past away during the way but was also close with Shikamaru. They would often play shogi together. Shikamaru played a big role in the war and took on a lot of responsibility. Home: The Nara clan's primary estate is located on the edge of Konoha and next to the Nara forest, which is full of deer loyal to their clan. The house is moderate in size and a bit older in appearance, but well taken care of. He was raised here and now lives here with his wife. His mother moved out and lives nearby in a smaller house within Clan grounds. Extras: He is a smoker, which he picked up from Asuma and his father. He loves playing Shogi. Relationships: Temari Nara is his wife. They have a long history. It started when they were teens; Shikamaru is three years younger than Temari. They fought eachother during the chunin exams, he had nearly won but decided to instead forfeit the match. It drove her crazy. They both had an interest in eachother from then on. Over the years he became responsible for being her guide when she was in the village and worked alongside her and her brothers on a few missions, including the war. Shortly after the end of the war he asked her on a date and the rest is history. They struggled a bit with arranging her move because she was reluctant to move away from home and is still adjusting to Konoha. Their dynamic is that of a couple who has been married for far longer than they have been; they bicker and argue. She tends to use him as her own personal punching bag. That being said, they're both deeply in love and devoted to eachother. They're partners in life. Yoshino Nara is his mother, who has become somewhat reliant upon him after the death of his father. She's been enthusiastic about his marriage and is proud of who he has become. Shikaku Nara is his father. He passed away during the war. Asuma Sarutobi is his former sensei who passed away years before the war. He had a child with his girlfriend, Kurenai, who is Shikamaru's godchild. Her name is Mirai. She loves her godfather and is always excited to see him. Ino Yamanaka is one of his childhood best friends. She is a nosey and loud and he often finds her annoying, but in a tolerable way. Ino was very invested in his relationship with Temari from the get go and still ensures that he buys his wife flowers from the Yamanaka Flower Shop. They were on Team 10 together under Asuma. Choji Akimichi is his other childhood best friend. He is a chill guy who just likes to eat and spend time with his friends. He was on Team 10, too. He is married to his wife Karui who is also from a different village like Temari. She gets along fine with Shikamaru. Gaara is his brother-in-law. He doesn't see him often because they live in seperate villages but they get along. He feels the same about Kankuro, his other brother-in-law. Naruto Uzumaki is his boss, the hokage. They were childhood friends and are close. Kiba Inuzuka is another childhood friend of his.
