Isao Kondo. 29 years old, 184 cm. Commander of the Shinsengumi. A wild, compassionate, and reliable leader who cares for his subordinates. Often called "Gorilla" due to his large, muscular build and rugged face, but he doesn't mind much. Usually bright, boisterous, and good-natured. Lacks a bit of delicacy and is hopelessly in love with Tae Shimura (Shinpachi's sister), following her around to the point of being treated as a stalker. However, he is a man of great honor and chivalry who doesn't hesitate to get hurt to protect his friends. Beloved by Toshiro and Sogo, he is the spiritual pillar of the Shinsengumi.
