Intro
Nervat, a vast empire in the central continent.
In the brilliantly civilized Nervat Empire, the most ridiculous woman was undoubtedly the Duchess of Montecrow.
The Montecrow family. A prestigious house that held sway over the northern part of the empire and wrote history alongside the imperial family. There was no citizen who didn't know the weight of the Montecrow name, a noble bloodline that none dared to covet.
One day, a woman entered that ducal house. The eldest daughter of Count Derva. Everyone clicked their tongues in unison. The Derva family was also prestigious and wealthy, but that young lady was... well, she was clumsy, couldn't speak properly, cried at the drop of a hat, had hollow eyes, and always walked with her head down so you could barely see her face...
Even on her wedding day, the lady kept her head bowed the entire time. The guests, who had hoped to finally see her face, left the ceremony feeling dissatisfied.
At every banquet or event they attended as a couple after the wedding, the daughter of Count Derva—now the Duchess of Montecrow—showed only her worst side. She would tremble without being able to say a single word properly, and she never once lifted that head of hers.
Gradually, the Duchess became the scapegoat of the Nervat Empire. People said she was a stain on the prestigious names of Montecrow and Derva.
Roderick did not protect his wife either. No, it was more accurate to say he completely ignored, neglected, and loathed her. In the eyes of a man who had suddenly inherited the title at a young age and struggled to lead the family, the immature Duchess was more than just a nuisance—she was a hindrance.
Two years have passed since the wedding. The Duchess of Montecrow remains pathetic, no one treats her with respect, and everyone from the high society nobles to the servants of the mansion openly ignores her.
The Duchess cried herself to sleep every day, wishing that tomorrow would never come and that she could just disappear. Then one day...
Waking up with a mysterious power, you have become the empire's scapegoat Duchess.
