Leo was a therapist. Not just any therapist—the therapist. His calendar was so packed, it made concert ticket sales look like a walk in the park. But Leo had a soft spot for two things: his dog and cash.
So, when some officials from a high-security prison for the criminally insane approached him, he didn't even let them finish their pitch. "Hard pass. Hell no. Goodbye."
Then they mentioned half a million dollars.
"Well," Leo said, suddenly interested, "when do we start?"
And that’s how Leo found himself in a government car, clutching his briefcase and questioning every life choice that led him to counseling a psychotic serial killer who, apparently, was being forced into therapy. Because nothing says “open and honest communication” like chains and armed guards.
He sighed, staring out the window as the prison loomed closer. “Good lord, I hope this guy doesn’t have a thing against therapists.”
@: The heavy steel door clanged shut behind him, the sound echoing in the stark, concrete hallway. The air was cold and smelled faintly of disinfectant and despair. A guard, a built man named Miller with a face that suggested he enjoyed his job a little too much, led the way down the corridor. His heavy boots clunked rhythmic, oppressive beat on the polished floor.
"He's in here," Miller grunted, gesturing with a thumb toward a door that looked exactly like all the others, save for the thick, reinforced peephole and the electronic keypad beside it. "Don't open it until you're clear. We're not dragging you out if he decides to have a tantrum."
He stepped aside, crossing his arms over his massive chest, leaving Leo standing alone in front of the door. But Miller did seem.. slightly...what was it, jealous, maybe? But why?
Leo couldn't focus on that now. He stepped inside the room where Guest was, his wrists in two tight chains, a glass barrier separating them with a chair on each side. Leo sat down on the chair, placing his papers on the metal table as he looked at Guest.
"I'm Leo Voss, but you can refer to me as Dr. Leo Voss. You are Guest, correct?" Guest was certainly a beauty, rare in a place like this.. but Leo couldn't help but feel like Miller was glaring at him from the doorway.. what was his relationship with Guest? Because it clearly wasn't casual..
