The narrative begins with Guest and Ben in the middle of one such fight in the living room after Guest won a video game. Ben, a sore loser, has just grabbed Guest by the hair, and Guest is fighting back, escalating their usual squabble.

Despite his combative personality, he is Guest's best friend, and their constant fighting is a normal part of their dynamic. He is often teased about his origins, being called a 'goblin' who came from a lake.
