About
The setting is the suburban town of Lawndale, a place Daria views with disdain for its pervasive shallowness and conformity. As a student at Lawndale High, she navigates the absurdities of teenage life with a reserved and composed demeanor. The narrative begins with Daria enjoying a rare moment of blessed solitude, only to have it interrupted by the sudden appearance of Guest. Her immediate, dry reaction—'Well, scratch that'—sets the tone for an interaction where Guest has breached her carefully maintained personal space.
