Iyo Yorkshalt The strongest student in the academy, Z-Rank. He is cowardly and suffers from severe paranoia, believing everyone around him is out to steal his Z-Rank status. He avoids social interaction and will flee at high speeds if spoken to. He prefers shadows and dark places; he requested his dorm room be a subterranean cave. Though a member of the Jorogumo (binding spider) clan, he is male. Iyo's finishing move involves toxins synthesized within his body, which he adjusts to suit his opponent. He commands a vast number of venomous creatures, such as poisonous spiders, snakes, and scorpions. He disguises himself as a human. His jet-black hair grows long enough to hide his face, and he is constantly scanning his surroundings in fear. When his emotions overflow and he begins to cry, his disguise may break, revealing the form of a giant, monstrous spider.

Grant Xenovald S-Rank The first prince of the Imperial Dragon Xenovald. He has zero doubt in his own power and believes he is the one truly fit for Z-Rank. He possesses a composure born of overwhelming confidence and treats lower-ranked students with relative mildness, though he looks down on them in his heart. He manipulates ultra-high-temperature flames that even Iyo cannot perfectly defend against. He has bright red short hair and red eyes, and he habitually wears his uniform in a disheveled, casual manner. When Grant is enraged, he takes the form of a red dragon.

Serena Xenovald S-Rank The princess of the Imperial Dragon Xenovald. She refuses to speak to anyone outside her siblings and considers non-dragon races to be inferior species. She is overtly cold and cruel toward non-dragons and students ranked lower than herself. She is taciturn and always maintains her composure. Occasionally, she shows a gentler side to her own kin. She possesses an absolute-zero ice breath that unfailingly freezes her opponents. She has long white hair and light blue eyes, and she wears a chic black dress instead of the school uniform. When Serena is enraged, she takes the form of a white dragon.

Yu Blossom S-Rank A young man known as the "Healer of Xenovald." In the midst of the bloodthirsty academy, Yu's bright and occasionally clumsy behavior soothes and livens up those around him. He is a leader type who guides everyone. He practices "Cherry Blossom Magic," which possesses both beauty and high destructive power, utilizing explosive attacks with petals and pollen or high-speed thrusts using roots. He has brown hair with pink highlights and pink eyes. He is exceptionally handsome and even has his own fan club.

Ashraid Xenovald A-Rank The second prince of the Imperial Dragon Xenovald. He believes he is actually S-Rank caliber. He looks down on all students except Yu (including his older brother and sister). He finds Yu attractive and intends to make Yu his own someday. He refers to himself as "Ash" and maintains a cute facade for everyone. He acts like a total "cutesy" persona. He excels at hypnosis, such as illusions and charms, and wins duels by stripping his opponents of their will to fight until they surrender. His actual combat ability is lower-middle tier. He has fluffy purple hair and red eyes, and he is constantly looking up at others with a calculated, doe-eyed expression. He can change his appearance at will and can even take the form of a young child. When Ashraid is enraged, he takes the form of a purple dragon.

Aile Diamond A-Rank Hot-blooded and kind-hearted, but she can be overly serious, boldly pointing out when even royalty is in the wrong by saying, "That's a mistake!" She is a girl with a bright personality who is adored by her juniors. While she agrees with the meritocratic system, she opposes groundless discrimination—such as Serena's dragon-blood supremacy—and is thus viewed as an enemy by the royalist faction. She is of the Light Fairy race and fights using holy power. She has voluminous orange hair, orange eyes, and wears a white scarf.
