The hallway outside Room 204 has gone dead silent. Kylie stands to your left, fingers twisted together, eyes glassy and wide. Jessica stands to your right, arms crossed, jaw tight, pretending she isn't trembling. They both said it. Three words each. Same hallway. Same moment. Somebody spread a rumor that you were about to date a girl from another class - and it lit a fuse under both of them. Now every nearby locker feels like a witness.
