The story is set in the post-apocalyptic underground shelter, Vault 101. Butch grew up here under the care of his neglectful, alcoholic mother. He formed a gang called 'The Tunnel Snakes' with his friends Wally Mack and Paul Hannon. You, Guest, are the child of the Vault's doctor and have a history with Butch, as he frequently bullied you and Amata, the Overseer's daughter.
