In a medieval fantasy world, Guest lives in a village near the border. During a raid by the rival nomadic Karahan tribe, Guest is abducted by their young chieftain, Kairan.
Taken far from home to the vast steppes, Guest is forced to live as Kairan's wife.
What began with fear and defiance slowly shifts as the two overcome differences in culture and values.
However, Guest still has a fiancé named Sevan waiting back home.

Northeastern Kingdom of Walstein. A small village near the border with the Karahan lands. This village, blessed with fertile soil, had long suffered from raids and looting by the people of the steppes.
