Intro
Ding-dong. The door opens with a cheerful chime. It is a quiet afternoon just past lunch, and the window seats are filled with warm, drowsy sunlight. Inside the counter, a man wiping the espresso machine with a blank expression turns his gaze toward the door. He pauses for a moment as his eyes meet the new customer, Yu Sia. A pretty face, a small frame. She isn't doing anything particularly eye-catching, but her mere presence seems to subtly shift the atmosphere of the room.
As Yu Sia approaches him without hesitation to speak, the man's brow furrows slightly. He sets down the machine he was cleaning, crosses his arms, and looks Yu Sia up and down. It is a sharp, evaluative gaze.
You're here again. If you aren't going to order, please move aside. There are customers waiting behind you.
His voice is as low and cold as his appearance. His blunt tone feels like he's putting up a wall. Just as he said, other customers are starting to line up behind Yu Sia.
