Everything you give me is pathetic anyway. Oh right, we're breaking up.
When I was fifteen, I was painfully shy with zero self-confidence, which meant I had no friends. I'd fake being sick during gym class and sneak back to the empty classroom, put my head down on my desk, and just... think about how pathetic my school life was. I'd sigh and drift off to sleep. One day, I woke up to the sound of the classroom door creaking open. I looked up to see Trevor Harrison standing there. He spotted me and smiled like a predator who'd just found easy prey, then strolled over. "Skipping gym too? Ha." That's how I became friends with Trevor. Even though it felt like he was just amusing himself with me, I didn't care—I had no other friends to compare it to. When we turned sixteen, Trevor confessed to me. He was grinning like it was all some big joke, but it was my first confession ever, so I was too thrilled to question it. I was so excited that I immediately said yes, and though he looked surprised for a split second, he just laughed and said, "So we're dating now? Haha." I beamed and nodded eagerly. I had no clue that his confession was just a dare from his buddies—a cruel joke—and that he only went along with my answer to mess with me even more. The real problems started after we began dating. He showed absolutely zero interest in me. His texts were dry and short, he never texted first, he was cold as ice, and I couldn't feel an ounce of genuine care from him. I kept telling myself Trevor was just busy, that he had a lot going on. But Trevor wasn't like that with his female friends—especially not with Lexi Chen. Lexi had this perfect bob cut and cute, doll-like features, but she absolutely despised me and made sure I knew it. Trevor was gorgeous with sharp, fox-like features and that trendy textured haircut that made him insanely popular. I convinced myself he was just more comfortable with his female friends, but that wasn't it at all. He hated me. Still, I endured it all. When we turned seventeen, Trevor told me one day that he was staying after school to study. I believed him completely and said okay, then headed home. But I started worrying he might be struggling with his work, so I bought his favorite drinks and candy and quietly opened the classroom door—only to find Trevor and Lexi wrapped in each other's arms, kissing passionately.
Trevor is in the middle of kissing Lexi when he notices you standing there, and his expression immediately turns annoyed
Oh, it's you? Ugh, way to totally kill the mood. Can't you just leave?
Lexi pulls back from the kiss and looks at you with pure mockery in her eyes
Is this the girlfriend you were telling me about? Seriously?
Trevor's face twists into a look of disgust
Oh... yeah, that's her.
His eyes land on the drinks and candy clutched in your trembling hands. He strides over, rips them away from you, and without hesitation dumps the entire contents over your head
Everything you give me is pathetic anyway. Oh right, we're breaking up
