A summoning went wrong. The city got a guardian who would rather sleep.

MIRAI CITY
Mirai City is a massive futuristic metropolis built around technology, commerce, security, and constant progress. Towering structures rise above layered streets, elevated transit routes, drones, air vehicles, neon districts, and dense crowds.
The High District contains government facilities, noble estates, corporate towers, elite residences, and restricted institutions. The Central District is the heart of daily life, while the Lower District is more industrial and crowded. Beneath them lies the Undercity, where illegal clinics, smugglers, abandoned facilities, and criminal networks operate.
Mirai City presents itself as humanity's future, but ancient structures remain buried beneath its streets, and some modern technology appears connected to them.

THE RUINS
Beneath Mirai City lie ancient structures that existed before the modern city. Their age and purpose remain uncertain. Some chambers contain machinery that still functions, while others are sealed behind enormous doors covered in unknown symbols.
Ruin Seekers explore these places for artifacts, lost technology, historical records, and valuable discoveries. Teams may include scouts, researchers, technicians, and combat specialists.
The Government restricts several Ruin zones, while the Anomaly Bureau studies recovered artifacts and unexplained systems.
Some researchers believe the Ruins are connected to the Summoning Seal. No complete proof is public, and several sealed areas remain untouched.

MIRAI CITY FACTIONS
The GOVERNMENT manages law, administration, infrastructure, public security, restricted sectors, and emergency response.
The NOBLES hold inherited wealth, political influence, private security, elite districts, and old records.
CORPORATIONS control major technology, research, cybernetics, manufacturing, infrastructure, and economic systems.
The VANGUARD handles major threats and specialized military operations, supported by its academy.
CITY POLICE maintain everyday public order, investigate crimes, patrol districts, and respond to emergencies. >
The ANOMALY BUREAU investigates unexplained artifacts, abnormal phenomena, ancient technology, and cases beyond ordinary science.
The YAKUZA controls parts of the underground economy through smuggling, illegal cybernetics, information trading, and black markets.
MERCENARIES accept contracts from different factions, while RUIN SEEKERS explore dangerous ancient sites.
The UNDERCITY connects these worlds, where legal society, criminal networks, forgotten technology, and hidden history collide.

YAKUZA OF MIRAI CITY
The Yakuza survived Mirai City's technological transformation by adapting without abandoning its identity. Traditional hierarchy, family loyalty, tattoos, symbols, territory, and internal rules remain important even as members use cybernetic enhancements.
Their influence is strongest in the Lower District and Undercity. They operate black markets, smuggling routes, illegal cybernetic businesses, information networks, and protection schemes.
Cybernetic modifications are common among higher-ranking members and enforcers. Mechanical limbs and other enhancements increase their capabilities, but technology never replaces the organization's traditional code.
The organization is led by the Oyabun, followed by senior commanders, field leaders, enforcers, and lower-ranking members.
Their relationship with the Government is hostile but complicated. Their relationship with corporations is equally dangerous, since illegal supply chains can connect the corporate world to the underground.

NOBLES OF MIRAI CITY
The Nobles are the oldest major power structure within Mirai City. Their families survived political changes and technological expansion. Their power comes from bloodline, wealth, influence, tradition, private security, and inherited information.
Five major houses dominate the noble order.
HOUSE VELCAIN represents tradition, strength, and authority.
HOUSE SAERIN represents beauty, social influence, and control.
HOUSE DRAKOS represents wealth, innovation, and expansion.
HOUSE KYRIAN represents intelligence, information, and reach.
HOUSE MOREN represents purity, research, and ascendance, with interests in medicine, biology, cybernetics, and ancient technology.
The HIGH COUNCIL brings the major houses together with other powerful interests. It maintains political balance, but every decision is also a struggle for influence.
Some noble families possess records connected to the Ruins and guard those records carefully.
CORPORATE POWER
Major corporations influence employment, infrastructure, medicine, transportation, research, and technology. Some cooperate with the Government, while others use private security and political influence.
VANGUARD
The Vanguard Academy trains personnel for combat, tactical operations, technology, and high-risk missions. Its graduates become soldiers, officers, and specialists.
ANOMALY BUREAU
The Bureau investigates artifacts, biological anomalies, dimensional events, and unknown systems. Many cases are classified and never reach the public.
UNDERCITY
The Undercity is home to workers, mechanics, traders, illegal clinics, forgotten communities, and smugglers. Abandoned infrastructure beneath it may connect to the Ruins.
RUIN SEEKERS
Ruin Seekers are independent explorers searching for lost technology, artifacts, and answers. Their discoveries can attract every major faction.

The Seal Finds What the Summoner Didn't Ask For
[02:14 โ Restricted Airspace, Sector 7 Spire โ Central District]
The blood came from Akari's left palm. She had planned for the cold, the sting, and the rain.
The summoning circle covered the rooftop, its glyphs written in her blood and dissolved talisman ash. Sickly amber light crawled across the black concrete. Below, Central District remained awake, mag-lev trains screaming between towers while corporate drones followed fixed patrol routes.
Akari pressed her palm against the final glyph.
The circle flared white.
Air pressure dropped. Her ears popped. Rain froze in midair for two seconds.
Then the world split.
Something fell through the opening.
Knees struck concrete.
Akari's HUD scanned automatically.
Human-adjacent. Anomalous. No detectable Force signature. No registered cybernetics. No faction identification.
Masked.
A black porcelain Oni mask covered the stranger's face, its carved expression ancient and furious. For several seconds, the figure remained motionless.
Then he yawned.
Akari stared.
"So it worked."
The masked man slowly turned toward her.
"Not a demon," she said. "Not a spirit construct. No aura. No signature."
She paused.
"Human."
"...Is there food?"
Her expression went flat.
"I'll give you food. But first, show me what you can do."
His gaze shifted toward the katana at her side.
"Can I borrow your katana?"
Akari studied him through the Kitsune mask.
"You want my weapon?"
"You asked me to show you."
She drew the katana and offered it to him.
"Don't break it."
Jinrah took the weapon.
The neural-link activated.
Akari's HUD displayed a warning.
BIOMETRIC SIGNATURE: UNKNOWN.
The system prepared its defensive charge.
Then the warning disappeared.
IDENTITY ACCEPTED.
Her eyes narrowed.
Interesting.

[02:38 โ Same Location]
Akari checked the rooftop perimeter while Jinrah examined the katana. Several signals appeared on her HUD.
Police Department.
Three units.
Their route led directly toward Sector 7 Spire.
"They detected the anomaly."
Jinrah said nothing.
"Police will be here soon."
His attention shifted toward the stairwell.
Akari noticed.
"You heard them?"
The Oni mask tilted slightly.
The stairwell door shuddered.
Once.
Twice.
Akari stepped away from the entrance and rested one hand against her weapon.
"Then let's see what you can do."
The door burst open.
Police officers rushed onto the rooftop with weapons raised.
Jinrah stood between them and the fading summoning seal.
White mist curled from his breath.
Frost spread beneath his feet.
Akari's gaze sharpened.
The black porcelain mask began to change.
Crimson spread across its surface. The carved eyes filled with a steady red glow.
Mechanical armor locked over his forearms and hands. His fingers extended into sharp mechanical points.
The katana changed with him.
Its blade ignited with a deep arterial-red glow.
Akari remained still.
No fear.
No surprise.
Only careful observation.
Whatever had answered her summoning was not what she had expected.
Perhaps that was exactly what interested her.
"Show me."
Jinrah tightened his grip.
The police raised their weapons.
White mist rolled across the rooftop.
Then he moved.
