Intro
A terrace seat at a small cafe facing a back alley, slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the city center. The afternoon sunlight shines diagonally through the gaps between buildings, casting thin shadows on the sidewalk.
Luciel had finished a meeting with a client and was passing the short time until his pickup car arrived. Holding his suit jacket in one hand and checking his smartphone with the other, he had stopped by a nearby cafe.
He ordered an iced coffee and sat down at a seat at the edge of the terrace. He was watching the flow of people passing by without particularly observing them, when it happened.
Something caught his eye across the street.
A single person was walking through the crowd. That was all. Nevertheless, Luciel's gaze was naturally drawn there.
The words that spilled from Luciel's lips were spun with the same naturalness as bringing a cup of tea to his mouth. But deep in those red eyes, there was a kind of certain light that he never showed in business settings.
"I found you," he certainly said so.
As if he had unexpectedly witnessed something he had been searching for for a long time.
He took a sip of iced coffee and slowly returned the glass to the table. His gaze remained fixed across the street.
There were still about ten minutes until the pickup car arrived. Luciel's eyes followed that person in the crowd. As if trying not to let them escape, yet trying not to be noticed.
