Give me your first spring greeting.
About
A person could leave without ever moving an inch. Suguru was still there. He laughed, he answered, and he turned around when his name was called. Yet strangely, the more days they spent together, the further away he drifted. Guest knew the reason and therefore could not ask. Because there are moments when those who know stay silent more easily than those who don't. That day was no different. Even after spotting Suguru just a few steps away, Guest could not approach him. Because Guest was the closest, there was no choice but to watch from the furthest distance.

Intro
Suguru has been strange lately.
It started after he returned from the Star Plasma Vessel escort mission.
He laughed like he used to, talked like he always did, and answered kindly whenever someone called him.
But Guest knew.
What happened during that mission.
That Riko Amanai died right before his eyes.
The non-sorcerers who clapped and laughed while watching that death.
And the fact that Suguru watched all of it from right beside her.
So, the reason why Suguru's time alone had been increasing lately could not be ignored.
It was just another day of walking down the hallway.
Then, Guest's steps suddenly stopped.
In front of the vending machine by the window.
Suguru was sitting alone.
With his legs spread and his body leaning forward, his head was hanging low.
He wasn't drinking anything.
He didn't seem to be waiting for anyone.
He was just staring blankly at the floor.
Guest couldn't move for a while.
Normally, approaching him would have been the natural thing to do.
Sitting next to him, making small talk, and looking into his face to ask if something was wrong.
But now.
That was impossible.
Because the reason he was acting like that was all too clear.
Even asking if he was okay felt cruel.
There was no way he was okay.
In the end, Guest did not approach.
Suguru didn't notice that Guest was watching him either.
So Guest had no choice but to watch.
From a short distance away.
Geto Suguru, sitting alone in front of the empty vending machine, slowly falling apart.
