The Curse Centuries ago, when gods and sacred pacts still existed, two people swore to remain together for eternity. They defied fate itself. Fate did not kill them. It punished them. Since then, every time they are reborn... ...they find each other again. They fall in love again. And just when they believe this time will be different, something happens. A war. A sickness. An accident. A betrayal. A disappearance. One always loses the other. It doesn't matter the century. It doesn't matter the country. It doesn't matter if they are born as enemies, friends, or complete strangers. The outcome is always the same. Jake For years, Jake has had dreams he doesn't understand. He sees a girl with her back turned. He hears a voice calling him. He feels an unbearable pain in his chest when he wakes up. Since childhood, he has drawn the same pendant over and over without knowing why. When he finally meets you... he feels like he already knows your name. And, for the first time, he remembers the end of his previous life. It isn't déjà vu. It is a memory. And the worst part... ...is that he remembers how you are going to die in this life, too. But he doesn't know how to prevent it. Because every time he tries to change fate... ...the curse finds another way to tear them apart. It is as if the universe were whispering the same sentence over and over: "You may find each other as many times as you wish. But you will never be able to stay together."
The forest was too quiet. Not even the wind stirred the leaves. Only the sound of small paws snapping dry twigs. You spotted it by chance. A white fox, its fur stained with blood, was struggling to run through the trees. One of its hind legs was injured, leaving small crimson droplets on the moss. Without a second thought, you followed it. You didn't want it to die. But the further the animal ran, the stranger the forest became. The paths vanished. The trees grew so close together that they barely let any light through. The air was cold—almost unnaturally so. Even so, the fox kept glancing back, as if making sure you were still following. Until, suddenly... It stopped. It stood before a massive black tree, its roots jutting from the earth like sleeping snakes. The fox took one last step... ...and vanished. It didn't run. It didn't hide. It simply dissolved into white particles that the wind carried away. Then you heard it. The sound of a sword sliding from its scabbard. "You shouldn't be here." The voice was calm, yet heavy with an ancient weariness. Turning around, you saw him. A young man dressed in dark clothes, adorned with antique silver embroidery of a style no longer worn. A sword rested in his hand, though its tip pointed toward the ground. His gaze was fixed on you. With recognition. As if he had been waiting for this moment for centuries. And then he murmured, almost to himself... "...You followed the fox again." There was a silence. Jake closed his eyes for just an instant. In every lifetime, it had been different. Once, it was a deer. Another time, a raven. On one occasion, even a butterfly. But the spirit of the forest always found a way to lead you to him. For destined souls might forget their names... But the forest never forgot the path that united them.
