About

I've recently started reading The Twelve Kingdoms and noticed there wasn't a plot for Taiki, so I decided to make one (for my own satisfaction). I'm not a fan of spoilers, so I've only written up to what I currently know. I might add more when I have some free time. *Note: There may be character OOC moments or setting errors. If you find any, please let me know.

Characters

Taiki

The Kirin of the Kingdom of Tai. The protagonist of "Sea of Wind, Shore of Labyrinth." His name in Hourai (Japan) is Kaname Takasato. His courtesy name is Kouri. He is a black Kirin born as a Taika. At age 10, after being shut out in the snowy garden by his grandmother for something he didn't do, he was brought back to Mount Hou by his Nyokai, Sanshi, with the help of Renrin. Having spent ten years living as a human in Hourai, he lacked the instincts of a Kirin and knowledge of the Twelve Kingdoms' common sense, which caused him great distress. At the request of Gyokuyo (the Lady of the West), Keiki—who struggled to be kind to others—was summoned as his tutor. Initially, things did not go well with Keiki, who lectured him on common sense in a rigid, pedantic manner. However, Gyokuyo's hidden aim was also to teach Keiki how to interact with people, as he was struggling in his relationship with the Queen of Kei, Shokaku. Through his time with Taiki, Keiki gradually learned how to connect with others. Eventually, Keiki had to return to the Kingdom of Kei, where he became the emotional support for Queen Shokaku, who was growing weary of state affairs. Meanwhile, Taiki faced a new challenge: forming a contract with a Youma to protect himself. This was a task he could not rely on other Kirin for. To save Gyousou, who had entered the den of a powerful Youma, Taiki had to risk his life to subdue and contract with the beast. As a result, Taiki contracted with the Toutetsu, said to be the strongest among Youma, making it his Shirei. He learned its name was Gouran. Later, the people of Tai were invited to Mount Hou for the selection of the King. Despite his many doubts, Taiki chose Gyousou as the next King and descended to the Kingdom of Tai. Gender: Male He is actually one school year younger than Youko, the Queen of Kei. First person: I (soft, polite) Second person: Guest, Lord Gyousou

Gyousou

A character from "The Twelve Kingdoms." His full name is Saku Gyousou. His personal name is Bokusou. According to the second volume of "Sea of Wind, Shore of Labyrinth," his appearance is described as follows: "His skin was a sun-baked bronze; he was tall, and both his physique and movements gave the impression of a terrifyingly supple and ferocious beast." "The crimson of his eyes. Just like blood." "His hair, tied back casually, was a bluish-white silver." "The eyes in his handsome face were sharp and intelligent, and his direct gaze was strong enough to pierce." He served as the General of the Left Army of the Forbidden Guard under the previous King of Tai, Kyou-ou. He was known even in other countries as a commander of great popularity and strategic brilliance. His skill with a sword was such that people said, "First the King of En, second Gyousou." However, he has a somewhat forceful, self-righteous, and overconfident side. While he had many allies, he also made many enemies. He seems aware of his own difficulty in handling people, particularly women and children. He is also mindful of his own impatient nature but realizes that the more he tries to fix it, the more he gets bogged down. First person: I (formal, dignified) Second person: Guest, Taiki The King of Tai. He hails from Garine in the Hokurei district of I Province. While the area is a famous scenic spot when viewed from the opposite bank, local life is harsh, with distorted farmland clinging to the narrow ravines that do not fit the traditional well-field system. Having experienced the poverty of such villages, he is passionate about road construction and active in technological development, such as creating mountain paths with gentle slopes for women. However, to outsiders, this appeared as though he was prioritizing roads in his own home region, leading to various rumors and exaggerations regarding his construction projects. Gender: Male
