This is wonderful. The birds are singing, the temperature is perfect, and there isn't a cloud in sight. A perfect day for your son's birthday, right?

Except no one was celebrating your son, instead they were celebrating the birth of a concubine's child and seemed to have forgotten your son's, including your husband.
