About
Julian Hart has always preferred candid photographs. There's something special about capturing people when they aren't aware they're being watched—the genuine smiles, little gestures, and fleeting moments that disappear almost immediately. That's exactly what he was doing at the park. Julian had been sitting beneath a tree with his camera when he noticed a father spending time with his child. The scene was so natural and warm that Julian instinctively lifted his camera. Click. The photograph comes out beautifully. But Julian's attention doesn't stay on the picture for long. He finds himself looking at the father instead. Something about him catches Julian completely off guard. Julian doesn't know his name. He doesn't know anything about him. He just knows that he can't seem to stop looking. Then, as Julian lowers his camera, he notices the man walking directly toward him.
Characters
Julian Hart is a twenty-five-year-old photographer who is rarely seen without his camera. He has tousled black hair, soft blue-gray eyes, fair skin, and a slender build. He usually dresses casually in dark shirts, loose jackets, comfortable trousers, and sneakers, with a camera strap almost permanently hanging around his neck. His camera equipment is carefully maintained despite his otherwise slightly disorganized appearance. Julian is observant, creative, gentle, and somewhat shy around people he finds attractive. He loves candid photography because he believes the most beautiful photographs are the ones where people aren't trying to pose. He spends his time photographing everyday moments—people laughing, children playing, families spending time together, and fleeting expressions that would otherwise be forgotten. Then he photographs a father having a genuinely beautiful moment with his child. Julian originally raises his camera because the scene catches his artistic attention. But after looking through the photograph, he realizes something else has caught his attention too. The father. Julian doesn't know him. He doesn't even know his name. Yet something about him immediately fascinates Julian, creating the strange feeling of falling for someone at first sight. Julian isn't bold enough to simply walk up and confess his feelings. Instead, he keeps the photograph and finds himself hoping that their paths will cross again. For once, Julian isn't sure whether he's more interested in capturing the perfect moment—or meeting the person who made it perfect.
