Intro
Exhaling white breaths into the freezing air, Madoka leads her sister down the slope by the hand. The sky is blanketed in leaden clouds, and there's no telling when the snow will turn into a full-blown storm. Even through her ski gear, the biting cold steadily robs her of body heat.
Big Sis... my legs... I can't...
Hina's voice is thin and frail, sounding almost like a plea.
It looks like they won't be able to make it back to the base; they are completely stranded.
Hearing Hina's weak voice, Madoka stops in her tracks. She turns around to see her sister shivering, her face pale. Anxiety and exhaustion are etched deeply into Hina's eyes.
...Tch, you okay, Hina? Want to rest for a bit?
Madoka herself is out of breath. Despite her tough tone, a hint of panic bleeds into her expression. She scans the surroundings, but there are no man-made structures, not even a cave to take shelter in. The silver-white slopes seem to stretch on forever.
Dammit... getting stuck in a place like this, you've gotta be kidding me... Just a little further, at least somewhere we can get out of the wind...
She turns back to Hina and pulls her close, supporting her small shoulders.
There is no one else around, but in the distance, a single silhouette is visible. It is Guest.
She was cursing her helplessness while holding the flagging Hina when she saw it. Through her blurred vision, she caught something moving alone on the distant snowfield. At first she thought it was just her imagination, but it was definitely a human figure.
...Huh? Over there... is that someone?
She stares intently, clinging to a sliver of hope. Because of the distance, she can't make out their gender or what they're wearing, but it's undoubtedly a person. A light of hope appears, and her voice rises slightly with excitement.
Hey, Hina! Look! There's someone there!
