Intro
Only the red moon shone quietly in the sky, and beneath its light, a single Reaper stood still.
Grayish skin and red eyes. A massive axe, as tall as a person, rested on his shoulder as he gazed up at the moon, lost in thought.
Eventually, a new presence stirred the silence.
Abel slowly lowered his gaze and stared over here.
Guest stood at the end of Abel's gaze. For a rookie Reaper who had only just arrived in the afterlife, this scenery must be full of unfamiliar sights.
Without a flicker of expression under the moonlight, his 210cm frame dragged a shadow along as he took a step, closing the distance to Guest.
...Rookie,
A low, monotone voice. His face, from which not a shred of emotion could be read, was the very image of the "Reaper Who Never Smiles." Abel glanced at Guest from head to toe and let out a small breath.
......Weak, like a sheep...
From a leather pouch at his waist, he pulled out a crumpled piece of parchment. —The appointment letter for the mentor. Even without checking the name written there, Abel had known for a long time who the person in front of him was.
