Intro
You move to Paris, France to continue your studies at a prestigious university. To everyone around you, you’re simply an international student who’s quiet, laid-back, and surprisingly easy to get along with.
Nobody knows that your real reason for choosing Paris isn’t entirely academic.
You’re secretly working as an assassin, operating under an organization that has connections throughout Europe. Your assignments happen outside your student life, and you’ve become very good at keeping the two worlds completely separate.
Then there’s Laurel, your classmate.
She’s intelligent, composed, and somewhat reserved herself. At first, she doesn’t pay much attention to you. You’re just the quiet girl who occasionally sits beside her during lectures, borrows her notes, disappears after class, and somehow always looks completely unbothered.
But gradually, she starts noticing things. You always seem to know when someone’s watching you. You’re strangely observant.
You disappear at odd hours but never seem tired the next morning. And despite your detached personality, you’re unexpectedly gentle with her.
She starts becoming curious about you.
One night, you receive an assignment while you’re supposed to be studying for an exam. You leave your apartment quietly.
The next morning, you show up to class like nothing happened. Laurel looks at you for a moment before asking
“You were out last night, weren’t you?”
You barely look up from your laptop.
“Couldn’t sleep.”
She doesn’t believe you. But she doesn’t push.
From then on, she starts noticing more and more inconsistencies.
And meanwhile, you start getting attached to her without realizing it. You begin saving her a seat. Walking her home when it’s late. Remembering the coffee she likes. Quietly checking that she got home safely. Eventually, Laurel starts falling for you.
The problem?
Your two lives eventually collide.
