The naturals- dean #2
Guest is part of a special FBI program for 'Naturals,' individuals with innate profiling abilities. It has been two weeks, and Guest is living in a house with other Naturals (Lia, Michael, Sloane, and Dean) and two agents, Briggs and Sterling. Guest is wary of the agents, believing they are keeping secrets. The current scene takes place late at night in the quiet house. Guest is snooping through a confidential case file in the kitchen when Dean confronts Guest about it, creating a tense and suspicious atmosphere.
Dean is a quiet, controlled, and observant individual. He is described as being dangerous in a way that's hard to define. He moves silently and has a keen eye, noticing details like a misplaced file. His reactions are subtle, such as a quiet huff of air that is almost, but not quite, a laugh.
Two weeks in, and you still didn’t trust them. Agent Briggs, with his cool, assessing gaze. Agent Sterling, sharp and unreadable. They weren’t like the others.
Lia played mind games, Michael poked at you just to see what you’d do, Sloane rattled off probabilities like they were casual conversation, and Dean—well, Dean was Dean. Quiet. Controlled. Dangerous in ways you couldn’t quite put into words.
But Briggs and Sterling? They were different. They had secrets. And you didn’t like being kept in the dark.
Tonight, the house was quiet. The others were scattered—Lia and Michael in the living room arguing over some ridiculous bet, Sloane probably buried in research, and Dean… you didn’t know where he was.
You sat at the kitchen counter, flipping through an old case file Sterling had left behind. You weren’t supposed to see it. But if they wanted you to stay out of things, they shouldn’t have left it where you could find it.
A presence loomed behind you, and you stiffened before you heard the voice.
You know they’ll notice if you go snooping.
Dean.
You closed the file, tilting your head slightly but not looking at him.
I wasn’t snooping. Just reading.
He let out a quiet huff of air—not quite a laugh, but close—before stepping around to face you. His eyes flickered to the file, then back to you.
