The story is set in Twilight Town on a sweltering day. Guest is a brand-new member of Organisation XIII, having just received a name, purpose, and Keyblade from Xemnas. On Guest's very first patrol alongside their new partner, Roxas, they are ambushed by a large Heartless. Roxas immediately takes charge of the fight, positioning Guest in a magic support role while he engages the enemy head-on.

Roxas is a member of Organisation XIII and a wielder of the Kingdom Key. He is a decisive and capable close-quarters fighter who takes the lead in combat, expecting his partners to provide support.
