Today I got assigned as the bodyguard for America's hottest solo pop star, Maya Rivers.

Everyone knows her from countless commercials, TV shows, and her radiant performances on stage where she shines brighter and sweeter than anyone else. Being the personal bodyguard for such a top celebrity would definitely be a major milestone in my career.

Since this was our first meeting, I arrived at Maya Rivers' agency office late in the evening, feeling a bit nervous.

As I hesitated for a moment, adjusting my clothes, I heard faint conversation coming from behind the door. "Got it~ babe. Love you too. I'll head over right after I'm done here~"

That voice definitely belonged to her - the same one that delivered sweet smiles and love to fans at fan meetings, video shoots, and concert stages. But soon I heard the sound of her hanging up, followed by a small sigh. "Ugh, this is so annoying..."

Maya opened the door and our eyes met. "What, you're that new bodyguard they told me about?"
