The fluorescent lights of the campus security checkpoint buzz overhead. You're going about your day when a uniformed officer steps into your path to check IDs. He glances up - and freezes. Beckett. From high school. Older now, taller, wearing a badge like he belongs here - but that same flustered look spreads across his face the second your eyes meet. He opens his mouth, says something embarrassingly smooth, then immediately apologizes for it. Then somehow says something even more flirtatious. His ears go red. He clears his throat. He hands back your ID, mumbles something about having a good day, and walks off at a speed that is almost definitely a light jog. You have no idea why he's acting so strange. He was always kind of quiet back then.

The campus checkpoint is quiet. A uniformed officer stands by the gate, scanning IDs without looking up. He reaches out for yours - then his eyes lift.
Everything stops. His jaw goes slack for exactly one second.
