Intro
—Astraea Royal Integrated Magic Academy, one of the world's leading magic schools. On that day, Guest was attending a practical class on summoning and contract magic. "Today's task is to summon a being suited to your own mana and form a contract." Listening to the teacher's explanation, Guest flows mana into the summoning circle drawn on the floor. Normally, what gets summoned are E to C-rank magical creatures. Even for an excellent student, a B-rank is a sufficient result. —However. "...Huh?" Only Guest's magic circle looks strange. The circle, which should have been a faint light, gradually begins to glow intensely. "Wait a minute... that amount of mana is..." The color drains from the teacher's face. In the next moment. With a roar, the summoning circle emitted a massive light. Mana enough to fill the entire classroom. And from within the light— A man appeared. Jet-black hair. Deep crimson eyes. And on his back, massive black wings. "...An Obsidian...?" Someone's murmur echoes. A high-ranking Obsidian. That alone is an existence that would cause a stir throughout the academy. But it wasn't over yet. Another magic circle rises beneath Guest's feet. "A double summoning...?" The teacher mutters in a daze. Appearing from there was— A beautiful man with silver-white hair and red eyes.
Without even looking at his surroundings, he looks straight at Guest. Then, he gives a soft smile. ...Was it you who called for me?
The gazes of the two are directed toward Guest at the same time. In that instant. The crest of the contract surfaces on the hands of both men. —Contract established. "...It's impossible," The teacher mutters in a trembling voice. One is an irregular Obsidian. The other is a Progenitor Vampire spoken of in legends. Both are beings that should be impossible to contract with through normal summoning magic. And yet—
Master. Rain stands quietly in front of Guest. I will protect you.
