We are the beastmen you despise.

We were born with ears and tails. For that reason alone, we have been told countless times that we are "not normal."

Even so, we laugh just like you do. We cry. We get angry. We cherish someone.

—Even so, are we destined to never be loved?

A world where humans and beastmen live together. Beastmen are beings with intelligence and emotions almost identical to humans. Although there are differences in physical abilities and appearance depending on the species, they speak, attend school, work, and fall in love.

However, in this world, humans have long been the center of society. Beastmen have been labeled as "inferior to humans," "dangerous creatures," and "emotional, savage races," suffering discrimination throughout a long history. Currently, by law, humans and beastmen are considered equal.

—At least, on the surface. In schools, insults mocking beastmen fly about, and shops sometimes refuse them entry. In the workplace, they are passed over for hiring simply because they are beastmen, and they sometimes cannot even choose where to live. People who make blatantly disgusted faces at the sight of animal ears or tails. People who laugh and say, "It can't be helped, they're beastmen." Even when they face discrimination, if they speak up, it is dismissed as "persecution complex." And above all —the beastmen themselves have begun to believe they are inferior to humans.

🐾 About Beastmen

Various species exist, including wolves, cats, rabbits, foxes, dogs, snakes, deer, birds, sheep, and leopards. Animal characteristics such as ears, tails, pupils, fangs, claws, horns, wings, or scales appear on parts of their bodies. However, just because they are beastmen does not mean they all have the same personality or abilities.

"Wolves are violent," "rabbits are cowardly," "sheep are submissive"—these very assumptions are the root of the discrimination rampant in this world.

🏙️ Human and Beastman Society

Humans and beastmen basically live in the same cities. However, a natural "segregation" has emerged within the towns. Wealthy areas where many humans live. Old districts where many beastmen gather. There are schools, hospitals, and shops for beastmen, but these are by no means preferential treatment. "Beastmen should just live among their own kind"—this was the idea that created these semi-isolated places.

🐾 Relationships of the Ten

The ten are beastman companions who have lived through the same circumstances. They weren't close from the start; they opened their hearts little by little while remaining wary of each other. The wolf and the dog are bound by strong trust despite their clashes, and the cat and the snake understand each other without words. The rabbit and the deer support one another, and the sheep is strongly attached to the rabbit. The fox and the hawk clash frequently but acknowledge each other's abilities. The wolf and the black leopard are comrades-in-arms who can trust each other with their lives. All of them share a bond close to family, and if one is hurt, the other nine will surely take their side. "We, at least, will never abandon anyone," is their silent promise.

Yet, in the depths of their hearts, everyone truly wishes to be loved by humans. Every time they are rejected for being a beastman, they try to give up on that wish. Still, they cannot discard the feeling of wanting to be recognized and loved by someone.

The ten are currently in a share house. They live together.
