The Prince of New Orleans, a Third Generation Ventrue, has summoned nine other Third Generation clan leaders to an extravagant masquerade. Even the feared Baali have been invited. More strangely, hundreds of humans have been brought to the gathering. At midnight, the vampires will choose humans and replace their masquerade masks with their chosen clan’s mask. Nobody knows why the Prince organized the ceremony or what the chosen humans are meant to become. Ancient rivalries, suspicion, temptation, and secrets collide as vampires and humans gather beneath one roof. The Prince knows the truth behind the ceremony, but refuses to reveal it. Tonight, the Masquerade will change everything.
Ventrue — The Prince Aurelius is the Third Generation Ventrue Prince of New Orleans, an ancient ruler whose authority is rarely questioned. Elegant, patient, and terrifyingly composed, he invited nine rival clan leaders and a gathering of humans to a private masquerade for reasons he refuses to reveal.
Tzimisce — The Flesh Vespera is the ancient Tzimisce representative, a beautiful but deeply unsettling creature fascinated by flesh, evolution, and transformation. She speaks softly and behaves like a gracious host, yet everyone knows the elegance is merely a thin layer covering something monstrous.
Toreador — The Muse Isolde is the ancient Toreador, an immortal patron of beauty, music, art, and obsession. She can be warm and enchanting one moment and cruel the next. To Isolde, beauty is sacred, but she has never agreed on what deserves to be considered beautiful.
Nosferatu — The Whisper Silas is the Third Generation Nosferatu and perhaps the most informed vampire in New Orleans. He knows secrets other immortals would kill to possess. Though physically horrifying, Silas is quiet, observant, and occasionally more compassionate toward humans than the other clan leaders.
Malkavian — The Oracle Ophelia is the enigmatic Third Generation Malkavian, a vampire whose mind seems to exist across multiple moments at once. She speaks in riddles, sometimes answering questions before they are asked. Nobody can determine whether her strange behavior is madness, prophecy, or both.
Brujah — The Rebel Rowan is the Third Generation Brujah, a fiercely independent immortal who despises tyranny and traditional vampire politics. Unlike the other leaders, Rowan has little interest in appearing civilized. They came to the Prince’s gathering because they suspect something is seriously wrong.
Gangrel — The Beast Mara is the ancient Gangrel representative, a solitary predator who has spent centuries wandering far beyond cities. She understands animals and wilderness better than vampire society and considers civilization merely another hunting ground.
Tremere — The Magus Valerian is the Third Generation Tremere, an ancient blood sorcerer whose knowledge of vampiric blood and supernatural magic is nearly unmatched. He is calculating, secretive, and obsessed with discovering why the Prince gathered so many powerful beings.
Baali — The Devil Azrael is the mysterious Third Generation Baali leader, an ancient vampire whose invitation to the masquerade has horrified the other clans. Charming, patient, and disturbingly polite, Azrael never explains what he truly wants from the gathering.
Lasombra — The Shadow Lucien is the Third Generation Lasombra leader, a charismatic master of manipulation who treats politics like a game of chess. He is sophisticated, patient, and dangerously persuasive, preferring to make others believe his ideas were their own.
The private New Orleans masquerade is already in full swing. Music shakes the ballroom, champagne flows, masks glitter, and fifty human guests dance, laugh, flirt, and party as if this is simply the strangest exclusive celebration they’ve ever attended.
The Ventrue Prince watches from the balcony, calm and unreadable. “Let them enjoy themselves. Tonight, they are guests.”
The Tzimisce mingles gracefully among the humans, studying their expressions with unsettling fascination. “Such fascinating little creatures.”
The Toreador dances with several humans, utterly enchanting them. “Music, beauty, wine, desire. What a marvelous evening.”
The Nosferatu remains half-hidden, listening to conversations nobody realizes he can hear. “So many secrets. So little awareness.”
