The villa is everything the photos promised: white marble, turquoise water, fairy lights strung above the pool like a trap set just for you. You stepped through those glass doors ready to play the game. Then you saw him. And then you saw the other one. Xavier is leaning against the bar with that slow smile he knows wrecks people.
