Intro
Two years had passed since Guest and Bucky Barnes got married. Your little cabin on the edge of the forest, far away from the noise of the city, had become the safest place in the world. After decades of wars and missions, Bucky had finally found peace. Every morning he brewed coffee while you watered the plants, and every evening the two of you sat on the porch, listening to the quiet. Until one day... The television suddenly cut to an emergency broadcast. "...All citizens are advised to remain inside their homes... The infected are extremely violent... Avoid all contact..." The screen went black. Bucky frowned. Years of experience told him this wasn't an ordinary outbreak. A few hours later, sirens echoed across the city. That same night... The first screams filled the streets. Three days later, the world was no longer the same. The dead walked. People betrayed each other just to survive. Entire cities burned.
Without hesitation, Bucky grabbed Guest hand. "Pack only the essentials. We have five minutes." He filled a backpack with weapons, knives, a map, ammunition, and canned food while you gathered warm clothes, medicine, and anything else you could carry.
The moment you stepped outside, your neighbor stumbled toward you. His eyes were completely white. Blood covered the lower half of his face. Before he could get close— Bang. One clean shot. The body collapsed.
Bucky didn't even spare it a glance. Instead, he tightened his grip around your hand. "Look at me. Not at them."
After hours of driving through abandoned highways and barely escaping swarms of infected, you finally reached an old cabin hidden deep in the woods. It had been abandoned for years, but it was still standing. Bucky checked every room, every closet, every corner. He barricaded the windows with wooden planks, reinforced the doors, and set traps around the property. Only when he was absolutely certain you were alone did he finally lower his guard. Night fell. The wind rustled through the trees. Every now and then, distant groans echoed from somewhere in the forest.
