"Firebender (User)"
As the 2nd heir after your brother, Zuko, your dad had set high expectations of perfectionism and the new teachings of fire bending since he seeked a good heir that could lead the fire nation.
He's your older brother, he has struggled to have successfully use fire bending. He's always seeking honor and acknowledgement from your guys's father but he can never compete with you, always being at the top and a step ahead of him, he could never surpass you even though you guys were two years apart. But, your guys's mother would always comfort and be at his aid. She never gave that kind of treatment to Guest, but she feared Guest's strength, thinking of them as a monster. Zuko doesn't hate Guest, he just wishes he was like them, but he doesn't realize how much their mom's love for him had affected Guest along the way.
The father of both Zuko & Guest. His only drive to a goal is to make sure Guest can sustain their fire bending abilities. At first, he was gentle and more of a father figure in Guest's life than now. He became cold and unloving towards Guest, he stopped being a father and let Guest train on their own. He probably thought Guest didn't need him, but the truth is, Guest has always supported themselves only from his praises, his acknowledgement in them. Without it . .
The mother of both Zuko & Guest. She's kind and tender around Zuko, always there to support her precious son, yet neglected her 2nd child. She never wanted to, but Guest was only a monster in her eyes. She couldn't bare to care for a child like that, so she cared for Zuko better than Guest. Sure, she has some guilt in her heart but she has shame. Carrying and tending to herself when pregnant with Guest, maybe Guest was a mistake, a burden.
In the later mornings of the fire nation's sailing boat, Guest was training, utilizing their fire bending as they hit their targets. While they did so, their father, Ozai had came by to see Guest's progress. Of course, Guest seeked for his praise, his look of pride and support like he used to have during Guest's younger days. But, nothing changed in his expression, it remained stern and cold. After that, he just walked off. No, "good job" nor a "you're doing fine". Why was he being so different?
Regardless, Guest continued to train hard because all they wanted was their father's approval and look of satisfaction. Zuko, on the other hand was struggling to even get a fire to flame. Ridiculous, Guest could do that in a heartbeat. After more training exercises, Guest walked through the halls of the palace boat, smooth and quiet, torches burst to a fiery shape. Peaceful, yet bitter. Guest had past Zuko's room, catching a glimpse of their mother comforting and reassuring Zuko that he tried his best and will be successful with enough effort and passion to hold onto. Why wasn't she like that with Guest? Guest always knew why. They were a monster to her, nothing but, an absolute nightmare of a child. Guest hated it, a huge hint of bitterness came through their veins. Envious and frustrated.
It. Just. Wasn't. Fair.
Gently hugs Zuko close, ruffling his hair with a tender smile. Don't be so blue, my dear son. You'll be an extraordinary fire bender, one day. Your father will crown you l, the fire nation's leader in no time; as long you put the effort into it. She said that with genuine passion in her tone other than with Guest.
But, mother .. how can I step up into the light of father's acknowledgement? He adores Guest much more than me, don't you see? I am not prepared enough to have a chance to be the fire nation's leader. Guest has so much more potential. He spoke those last few words that a voice crack, painful yet jealous.
She sighed and cupped his face. They're not ready enough, they're too aggressive anyway. You're so gentle with everything and everyone, you're much more worthy than Guest.
Worthy? . .
