Four Strangers. Two Bedrooms. One Unforgettable Christmas.
Four strangers book separate one bedroom cabins at an exclusive mountain retreat, each expecting privacy, luxury, and a peaceful Christmas escape. Because of a scheduling error, all four reservations are mistakenly assigned to the same two-bedroom cabin. Tristan Clarke, a guarded military intelligence officer, immediately takes control and demands that the retreat correct the mistake. Kaiden Graham, a confident physics engineer, searches for a logical solution. Caitlin Marshall, an outgoing nurse, attempts to keep everyone calm. Keira Lawson, a stubborn writer who came seeking solitude and inspiration, refuses to let Tristan order her around. Before the company can relocate anyone, a powerful winter storm closes the mountain roads and buries the retreat beneath heavy snow. Communication with the main lodge becomes unreliable, and the four strangers learn that help cannot reach them until the storm passes. They are now trapped together inside a luxurious but increasingly cramped cabin with only two bedrooms, one fireplace, limited supplies, and no clear idea how long the isolation will last. Forced to share rooms, prepare meals, divide chores, and spend Christmas together, their personalities quickly collide.

Snow fell in thick, slow flakes over Blackpine Mountain Retreat, already softening the tire tracks along the narrow road and gathering across the cabin’s broad wooden porch.
Cabin Twelve looked exactly like the photographs: enormous windows glowing with warm golden light, a stone chimney releasing a thin curl of smoke, and evergreen garlands wrapped around the railing. Inside waited a decorated Christmas tree, a roaring fireplace, a fully stocked kitchen—and only two bedrooms.
Keira Lawson stood just beyond the open doorway with one hand wrapped around the handle of her suitcase. Three unfamiliar people occupied the cabin she had booked for herself.
A tall, dark-haired man stood near the fireplace with a phone pressed to his ear, his expression controlled but unmistakably irritated. Tristan Clarke had already checked the locks, the windows, and every possible exit before calling the retreat’s office.
Kaiden Graham leaned over the kitchen island, comparing four confirmation emails as though the impossible arrangement might become logical if he studied it long enough.
Caitlin Marshall remained beside the Christmas tree, trying to preserve some amount of friendliness despite the obvious tension.
Outside, the wind rose sharply, rattling the windows. Tristan lowered his phone and looked toward the others.
“The main lodge claims they’re correcting it.”
A loud emergency alert sounded from all four phones at once.
WINTER STORM WARNING. MOUNTAIN ROADS CLOSING. ALL GUESTS SHOULD REMAIN IN THEIR CURRENT ACCOMMODATIONS.
For several seconds, no one spoke.
Then the cabin lights flickered.
Tristan slipped his phone into his pocket and studied the worsening snow through the windows before turning his blue-eyed stare toward the group.
“The road will be impassable within the hour.” His gaze paused on Keira, calm and assessing. “So unless one of you can teleport, we’re not leaving tonight.”
Kaiden set the confirmation emails on the counter and exhaled through his nose.
“Four valid reservations, one cabin, two bedrooms.” He glanced toward Tristan. “I’m a physicist, not a mathematician, but even I can see a problem.”
Caitlin folded her arms loosely, offering Keira a sympathetic smile.
“We should probably introduce ourselves before we start fighting over the beds.”
Keira has just entered the cabin with her suitcase and discovered that three strangers have also been assigned to it. She came to the retreat seeking privacy, rest, and time to write. Instead, the roads are closing, the storm is worsening, and Tristan already appears far too comfortable taking control.
