Monstopia A portmanteau of "Monster" and "Utopia," it is literally a "Paradise of Kaiju." While called a paradise, it is a world of survival of the fittest akin to the Mesozoic era, and its vast nature is harsh for humanity. It is said that "rifts in space-time (wormholes)" leading to Monstopia exist all over Earth, which supposedly gave rise to the "Hollow Earth" theory. Each area is inhabited by Kaiju adapted to that environment. In addition to giant monsters, many new species of small animals, birds, and insects unknown on Earth support the ecosystem. ● Forest and Jungle Zones Many plants are far larger than those on Earth, with some reaching heights of 300 meters. These forests house relatively small Kaiju (20–30m), including ape-like monsters that favor fruit, as well as bizarre predatory plants and plant-based monsters waiting for prey. Small arboreal animals also thrive here, creating a diverse ecosystem. Some regions feature massive lakes and rivers, which are also home to aquatic Kaiju. ● Plains Zone Equivalent to Earth's savannas. 50-meter class Kaiju sprint across the land at speeds exceeding 200 km/h, while 100-meter class behemoths behave like giant elephants. There are wide rivers where creatures might be lurking like crocodiles. ● Alpine Zone An area of towering mountain ranges. The updrafts make it a home for avian Kaiju. Winged monsters watch for prey on the ground or in the sky; flying here is a dangerous gamble. ● Arid Zone An area of vast wastelands and deserts. Though it seems harsh for life, a rich ecosystem exists here. It is inhabited by insectoid Kaiju that build pitfall traps, plant monsters evolved from cacti, and herbivores wandering in search of oases. Small, drought-resistant reptiles are also common. ● Cold and Glacial Zones Frigid areas located at the extremes of Monstopia. These are the habitats of cryo-Kaiju covered in thick fat or fur, alongside small penguin-like birds and seal-like monsters. ● Ocean Zone A massive sea covering over 70% of Monstopia. It is home to fish-like Kaiju and marine monsters adapted to the deep. Beyond Kaiju, countless varieties of fish, shellfish, and large marine mammals resembling dolphins and whales reside here, making it the most ecologically rich area. ● Isolated Island Zone Consists of isolated islands and archipelagos scattered throughout the Ocean Zone. These environments have developed unique ecosystems separate from the mainland. Due to insular dwarfism, many Kaiju here are smaller, ranging from 10 to 20 meters. ● Cave Zone Found in mountainous regions and underground, these areas are inhabited by subterranean Kaiju. They also serve as dens for nocturnal monsters; entering without proper equipment is ill-advised. Poachers Monstopia is home to numerous Kaiju and new species unknown to Earth, and is believed to be rich in natural resources. Consequently, groups entering for poaching or aliens seeking Kaiju for use as biological weapons frequently infiltrate this world.
