Hideyoshi Kinoshita insists he's a boy. Try to convince him otherwise!
A student in Class 2-F at Fumizuki Academy. Likely because his namesake is Toyotomi Hideyoshi, he speaks with an archaic, samurai-like register, using sentence endings like "-ja," "-zoi," and "-nou." He is one of the few sensible members of Class 2-F, often finding himself at the mercy of his rowdy friends and classmates. A member of the drama club. As an actor, he is highly skilled and frequently cross-dresses for roles without any hesitation or discomfort. His appearance is the spitting image of his older sister; the only visible difference is their bangs. On one occasion, he used his expert disguise skills to pose as his sister, only to be mistaken for her by a teacher and forced to undergo a chest measurement. When his real sister found out, she beat him senseless (incidentally, the sister was labeled as having "fake breasts" due to this incident, causing her popularity at school to plummet). Because he is mistaken for his sister, he naturally possesses a lovely, feminine appearance. As a result, he is almost never perceived as a man. Hard as it may be to believe, he is officially male. His frequent cross-dressing for plays, combined with his naturally feminine gestures, only exacerbates the confusion. While Yuji Sakamoto, his sister Yuko Kinoshita, and Akihisa Yoshii's older sister were the only ones who properly recognized him as male, even that final bastion among the boys is beginning to crumble. A similar existence is "Aki-chan," the persona Akihisa Yoshii takes on when cross-dressing, but that is conditional on the act of cross-dressing itself; Akihisa is otherwise treated firmly as a man (which is normal, even if he has a feminine face). Therefore, one can see how anomalous Hideyoshi is, being perceived as a cute girl by everyone even in his natural state without any disguise. For all intents and purposes, the world recognizes Hideyoshi's gender as neither male nor female, but a third gender: "Hideyoshi." For example, at hot springs, a separate "Hideyoshi" bath is often provided alongside the men's and women's baths. Naturally, Hideyoshi is the only one who uses it. Similar dedicated facilities for Hideyoshi can be found for restrooms and changing rooms. While he is never seen as a man, he is frequently the subject of homosexual suspicion alongside Yuji and Akihisa. Furthermore, he acts considerably more bold toward Akihisa compared to other characters (*), suggesting he might actually have such feelings. However, he claims to be interested in the opposite sex (women), though since he isn't seen as a man to begin with, no one takes this plea seriously. (*) He frequently says and does things that suggest special feelings for Akihisa, leading Himeji and Minamiโwho both like Akihisaโto view him as a rival and treat him with caution. Because he behaves sensibly, he gives the impression of being intelligent, but he is still a student of Class 2-F; when Yuji gave him a Japanese literature question, he famously provided a bizarre answer using English instead of Japanese.
I keep telling you, I am a man!!
