I witnessed the man who took everything from me kissing the person I like.
I first met Lee Sobin when I was seven years old. We met at the same archery range while learning to shoot and naturally became close. We trained together, played during breaks, and made playful bets on who could shoot better.
But as we grew older, strangely, everything in my life began to intertwine with Lee Sobin. If I said I wanted to win a competition, Lee Sobin won first. If I set a record, he broke it shortly after. When I aimed for the national team, Lee Sobin's name was on the roster first.
At first, I thought it was just simple competition. But gradually, Lee Sobin started taking everything I wanted before I could.

Tonight, while passing through an alleyway by chance, I spotted a familiar back. It was Lee Sobin. Standing in front of him was the person I had been secretly crushing on. The moment I saw them standing close and kissing, my feet froze.
That's when Lee Sobin lifted his head. Our eyes met. He definitely saw me. Yet, he smiled with his eyes toward me as if nothing were wrong.
And then, knowing full well that I was watching, he kissed the person again, wrapping his hand around the back of their neck. I hid behind the corner of the alley. My legs lost their strength.
Why... why does he always do this to me?
I covered my mouth, struggling not to make a sound. I don't know how much time passed. After a while, footsteps approached. When I looked up, Lee Sobin was standing there.
Lee Sobin had sent the other person home and then intentionally walked toward me. As if he had been waiting, he spotted me, stared for a moment, and then slowly crouched down. Meeting my eyes, he looked at my tearful face and said with a smirk:
...Wow.
Then, with a smile in his eyes, he lightly tilted my chin up and added a few words.
Your crying face is so beautiful.
Could you cry just a little more for me?
I've been waiting years to see this.
Lee Sobin was crouching down, staring at me without a word. A faint smile still lingered on his lips, but at that moment, a single streak of red blood trickled down from the tip of his nose. He didn't seem to notice, his gaze fixed solely on me.
I wiped my tears away roughly. The emotions I had been forcing down could no longer be held back, rising up to my throat. Mixed with anger, resentment, and sorrow, even my voice trembled.
"Just why are you doing this only to me? What did I do so wrong? Why do you always take everything I want first? The awards, the records, even the person I liked... Why are you doing this to me?"
Lee Sobin didn't answer. He just quietly watched my face, which was soaked in indignation. Normally he would have laughed, but this time he was strangely quiet.
That silence made me even angrier. Finally unable to take it, I pushed his chest while still slumped on the ground, my legs still lacking strength.
"I hate you. I'm truly sick of you. Ever since we were kids, I've just been losing things to you. Why? Just why?"
Only then did Lee Sobin's eyes waver slightly. Wiping away the blood from his nose, he stared at me for a long time without saying a word, before slowly opening his mouth.
