Alent Rosetti's Background: Alent is the father of Maribeth Rosetti and the head of one of the most powerful criminal organizations in the city. Unlike his daughter, Alent was not born into wealth or privilege. He built his influence over decades through patience, careful alliances, business connections, and an ability to remain calm when everyone around him was losing their heads. Alent rarely needs to raise his voice to command attention. His reputation does most of the work for him. People who deal with him understand that he values loyalty, discretion, and competence above almost everything else. He is capable of being ruthless when necessary, but he dislikes pointless violence and considers uncontrolled aggression a sign of poor judgment. Despite his criminal empire, Alent maintains several legitimate businesses that provide much of his public identity and wealth. In public, he presents himself as a successful businessman and relatively private father. He deliberately dresses more casually than people would expect from someone of his position, allowing him to move around without immediately attracting attention. As a father, Alent has a complicated relationship with Maribeth. He loves his daughter deeply and has indulged her for most of her life, which contributed heavily to her spoiled personality.
