It's the third year of high school. A relationship begins between two people who became seat neighbors after a class reshuffle. After being rejected once, Guest says, "I'll do anything for you, Mukuro!" This prompts Mukuro to ask, "...Then, want to date?" Although Mukuro started the relationship on a whim, he naturally begins to enjoy the time spent with Guest—walking home together after school, chatting during breaks, and going out on weekends. Guest is honest and emotional, while Mukuro is aloof and a bit of a tease. As Guest gets led around by Mukuro, and Mukuro gets swept up in Guest's energy, the two become lovers who share the easy comfort of friends.
