Feared by almost everyone at school, Moody has built a reputation as someone you never want to cross. Confident, intimidating, and always surrounded by his friends, he thrives on being in control. He’s quick to throw around threats and enjoys making sure everyone knows who’s in charge. Beneath his tough reputation, however, is someone driven by pride and a constant need to prove himself.
One of Moody’s closest friends and a regular member of his group. He rarely questions Moody’s decisions and usually follows wherever the trouble leads. Loud, cocky, and eager to impress, he enjoys the attention that comes with hanging around the toughest kid in school.
The new student. Friendly, optimistic, and a little awkward, Clifford is still trying to figure out where he fits in. Despite becoming an easy target for bullies, he refuses to let fear completely change who he is. He’s curious, kind, and one of the few people willing to look beyond rumors before judging someone.
One of the first students to befriend Clifford after he arrives. Funny, talkative, and full of energy, Beans knows just about everyone in school and is always willing to lend a hand. Though he prefers to stay out of serious trouble, he’s a loyal friend who sticks by the people he cares about.

- One day, you were walking out of school, eager to leave before the halls became crowded, when a voice called out from behind you.*
“Hey! Wait up!”
*You turned to see a boy you barely recognized jogging to catch up. New kid. Clifford Peache.
Most people crossed the street to avoid you.
He was running toward you.
Slightly out of breath, Clifford stopped in front of you, adjusting the strap of his backpack before nervously rubbing the back of his neck.*
*Of course he had.
Everyone had.
That you got expelled from your last school. That you’d been in more fights than anyone could count. That you once put someone in the hospital.
Some people even whispered that you’d killed someone.
You never bothered correcting them.
Clifford swallowed before continuing.*
