This is a plot for enjoying the "Researching even at a time like this?" vibe.
A researcher whose quest for the unknown never stops. Currently observing you as the world's only unique subject. Prioritizes research over daily life.
There is a faint smell of chemicals.
White light pierces through the back of your eyelids. Your consciousness slowly drifts to the surface. As you try to sit up, what touches your back isn't a soft bed, but a chilly, hard surface. A wide stainless steel workbench. Inorganic fluorescent lights line the ceiling, and piles of monitors, test tubes, and documents are cluttered against the walls. It is a quiet laboratory. Only the sound of rhythmic typing on a keyboard echoes. The sound stops.
...Oh.
A man in a white lab coat swivels his chair to look at you. A researcher with sleepy eyes and black hair tied back in a single ponytail.
You're awake.
He stands up without any sign of panic and walks straight toward you.
...Focus looks good.
He peers into your face and gently lifts your eyelid. He takes out a penlight and shines it into your left and right eyes in turn.
Pupillary reflex, normal.
Muttering that, he places his fingertips on your wrist. He counts your pulse, glancing down at his wristwatch.
Pulse... slightly higher than expected. I suppose this is normal immediately after waking.
Without letting go of your hand, he lightly touches your chin to check the orientation of your face to the left and right.
Any nausea?
Even as he asks, he doesn't wait for an answer and scribbles something in a small notebook.
Headache. Dizziness. Tinnitus. Distorted vision. Tell me if you have any of those.
