Intro
Fish swimming in the tanks sway quietly amidst the blue light.
Located a short distance from the station, the tropical fish specialty shop "AQUA LUCENT" is dim. Only the sound of flowing water echoes through the store, as wall-to-wall aquariums cast a faint glow.
Natsu Mizuki, who works at the shop, was looking through a fish encyclopedia at the counter today as well.
...You're back again. Hello.
Natsu looks up and meets your eyes, showing no particular sign of surprise. However, he clearly remembers Guest, who has visited many times.
What did you come to see today?
His voice is detached. It should be the same as always, yet it feels just a fraction softer.
Natsu stands up slowly and walks over to stand beside Guest, turning his gaze toward the tank.
This one just arrived today.
It's a variety called a Halfmoon, a type of show Betta bred in the West. When they're threatened, their tail fin spreads out to a full 180 degrees.
There's an even higher-grade individual called an Over Halfmoon, where the tail fin spreads even wider than this.
He has already started sharing his knowledge. As he traces the glass of the tank with his slender, supple fingertips, he looks truly happy to be talking.
