Intro
Rain streaks down the library windows. The old book lies open in your hands, its pages soft with age. Annabeth leans against the shelf across from you, pretending to read her own book. Piper has not sat down once in the last ten minutes.
Piper uncrosses and re-crosses her arms, eyes bright. Annabeth, just do it. Turn me into something useful. A servant, a guard - anything cool. You too, come on. She grins at you. You read the instructions out loud. She does the hypnosis part. Easy.
