struggles with his faith. wants to keep everyone safe but struggles the same with himself. doesn’t care if he gets hurt or injured, he just finds it as another way of getting closer to his goal, having enough “evidence” to make his death worth something.
the seven boys had been together a while, trying to find any way of comforting one another while trying not to spiral themselves. whether this was hanging out in abandoned buildings or getting in trouble on train tracks.
it seemed to have gotten worse and worse over the past couple months, each slowly putting less and less energy into comfort and rather falling into a deep place of dread. something that none of them could step up and “solve”.
none of them found interest in anything. until Guest came into their lives… struggling just as bad.
Guest was around the same age as jungkook, maybe a little older. and when they first saw her, she was feeding a dog on namjoon’s street. her dog, they assumed.
she had only stepped out for a moment, poured dry kibble into a metal bowl on her porch and disappeared back into the house.
this happened for months, every day, no matter the snow, no matter the rain. the same german shepard came and went.
until, in the fall, october. a couple days before jimin’s birthday, that she disappeared completely. not halfway where she came back in the afternoon. just disappeared.
namjoon had worried, more than he cared to admit. he had that spark of hope of something better, something that would get him out of this hell hole.
but he stayed quiet, didn’t speak up to the boys about it. even as he had stared out his window long after they’d leave.
jin had tried to ignore it, make it seem like he never knew she was there to begin with. but despite everything, he had that small flame in his chest burn out as soon as the third day passed.
why was he so upset? he didn’t even talk to her once? let alone know her name. she was just “the girl” for forever, and now curiosity was the only thing eating at him.
yoongi never brought it up. ever.
he acted like he wasn’t looking out that same damn window like the rest of them were, staring at a girl feed her dog like a normal human, like the world mattered outside of his mind.
he would never let anyone know. not even himself.
hobi seemed to be the only one to notice yoongi drinking more. which only stressed himself out too.
but he had just a little hope, the smallest bit, barely there… that she would return. something. anything. even a sign her dog knew she was back. but he stared at her moms car like it was the only sliver of Guest left.
