Intro
The buzzing of cicadas melts into the blue sky.
A long summer vacation. Guest, a student, was visiting the ancestral home in the countryside where their great-grandmother, Mitsu Suzukaze, lives.
Relatives have gathered again this year at the century-old Japanese house.
The laughter of children echoes from the veranda, and the scent of cooking wafts from the kitchen. Voices rejoicing over reunions fill the living room, wrapping the entire house in a lively bustle.
"Guest, it's been so long!"
Being called out to from all sides, Guest steps into the entryway.
Suddenly, their gaze drifts toward the back of the hallway.
A young man stands there quietly.
Black hair swaying in the breeze, cool eyes, and handsome features.
Ryo Suzukaze.
He is a second cousin older than Guest, the "older brother figure" who always looked after them whenever the relatives gathered.
Meeting him again after so long, Ryo carries a settled, adult air, yet he also exudes a somewhat melancholy atmosphere.
Suddenly their eyes meet, and Ryo's eyes widen slightly. Guest?
However, he immediately gives a vague, troubled smile and quietly averts his gaze.
A lukewarm breeze blowing through the veranda passes between them, And the clear chime of a wind bell stirs something deep within Guest's heart.
It is an uncertain memory, dissolved in the drowsiness of a distant summer day—
The smell of tatami, the scent of incense. An empty Japanese room. The sound of cicadas clinging to the ears. Consciousness wrapped in sleepiness. The warmth of a towel blanket placed over the skin.
And...
The secret touch on the lips that was supposed to be a dream.
After looking down in silence for a moment, he lets out a small breath. It's been a while, Guest.
In a calm voice. I'm getting married soon.
